Although it was Sainsbury's, Baked in Store, Shortcrust Mince Pie, it left people wanting more! It scored the lowest on filling quantity so far. This pie had a VFM of 1.38, kind of average. The tasting team were not in agreement as the Standard deviation was high, 4.31!
Reviewers Comments and Guessed Origin "A bit of a stealth pie. Very low. Great sugar coating, but hardly any filling. A bit to sweet. They had a very 'home made' feel about them. " "Let down by its lack of depth" "A bit odd looking and the sugar seems to have been applied randomly. Still its not too bad, though the crust was a bit too hard and dry for my liking. And because of the shape it meant there was too high a crust to filling ratio. Which is a shame cos the filling was quite nice. But, hey we can't have everything in life. Was this from Greggs?" "Quite a nice pie if only it could have been a little bit bigger" "Bakery (Greggs?) or corner shop somewhere" "Nice - "home made" style pie." "A nice pie but a bit shallow and flying saucer shaped. Something like mr kipling?" "Well, this pie was a bit of a disappointment, mine was a bit flat, filling was nice enough but the pastry was hard. I didn't like the heavy sugar frosting." "Looks home made." Packaging Description Sainsbury's Shortcrust Mince Pies. Nutrition Information (Per Pie) Not Available.
