Starbucks Mince Pie

What a Pie. A Monster. Huge... Could it be a replacement for the amazing F-Pie ?

Great presentation with a nice star on top and plenty of icing sugar.
It was heavy too... full of filling.
It was a bit too sweet for my liking, but quite fruity.
An excellent desert pie.

"Big, but not very tasty."
"A monster of a pie. Very tasty too. A nice vanilla aroma, and high quality all round. Possibly the best pie I've had - or maybe I've just been shocked into a trance by its sheer size. "
"Don't know, but a very enjoyable pie."
"The best pie so far this year, I don't think this one is from a supermarket"
"This pie must've come from a distant planet!"
"I liked it, though you can tell it's a pie for eating sitting down on a plate with some cutlery. I noticed some of pies had crumbled slightly."
"What a nice pie!  Pretty & we liked the pastry.  Filling was good if a tad on the sweet side for my taste but the fruit was very evident"
"Disappointing 1st bite. A bit pasty texture.."
"Very nice beautiful pie"

Yes, I remember there were 2 sizes of the Mince Pies at the London's Starbucks. I didn't try the larger Meat Pie sized one. There was a smaller, buttom of a cupcake sized one which was amazing. The crust was crispy and buttery like shortbread, and the filing was fruity, juicy with a little tart/sour that lightened the sweetness of the mince. The blance of filling and crust, textures of dry and juicy, tastes of sweet and sour and finally aroma of butter were very satisying. I'm glad to see they won the first prize, but perhaps the ratings would have been higher if the smaller size was used for the testing. Now, please, how does one order or get the recipe for it. I'm having cravings from Toronto!
