Reviewers Comments and Guessed Origin
"A nice fruity filling was the pie's main plus, while all else remains on or just above the average. One of the large supermarket chains' (Asda, Tesco, etc) mid-range pies, I expect." "After bleating about wanting another pie for the last 3 days this bland offering was a letdown. Pastry cheap tasting and too thick, filling lacked richness, complete lack of sugar topping. Tesco? Do Lidl make pies?" "Enough space between the pastry top and filling to host a U2 concert. Having said that, what filling there was managed to hold my attention. Note to manufacturers: There is no point putting fancy star motifs on the lid if you can't be bothered to add a little sugar. If this pie was a band it would be Toploader. Asda." "Good pie, although it did suffer from the lack of a sugar coating! " "I would compare this pie to a fat bird, big and meaty and not great to look at but if it's the only thing going well worth having. Wouldn't go out of my way to have one. Tescos basic" "Sainsbury's - A great looker but falls somewhat short on substance. Was a little disappointed after taking the first bight, did not like the filling. Seemed to lack a bit of sparkle and flavour. The crust was nice and buttery though. I really was looking to score this one positively, so a mixed review from me" "The visual presentation was a little poor the lack of the sugar coating, and a little burnt around the edges. A medium sized pie, in my eye. but the first bite provided very little flavour. However, the filling was of a good quality if lacking the taste of Christmas booze. I go for Tesco " "This pie reminded me of the film 'Dodgeball', with the mantra of 'Aim low' so that you don't fail...This pie gave me no preconceptions of grandeur and looks are not its strong points with its slightly overcooked crust, lack of sugar and no hint of aroma.. Much like the film, this pie wasn't the greatest, but did have its moments, was fulfilling, hearty and left me satisfied but lacked class and left me wishing for something a bit easier on the eye than Ben Stiller in shorts.." "Very much like Tim Henman, failed to deliver on any sort of grounds. No sugar, no filling, distinct lack of any impression, and a general lack of ability." "Very rough around the edges and a complete lack of sugar - but a very tasty filling made up for this. I reckon the pie came from Morrison's."
