Pie:
Morrisons 6 Deep Filled Mince Pies
Cost:  2 boxes for £1.80
Score:  60.43%

Quite a nice pie. Well presented with a holy leaf on top. Another slightly over cooked pie with brown edges. Pastry was very soft and moist. Filling tasty and you got some idea of the fruit too. No alcohol though. Another middle of the road pie. The best score so far though.

Reviewers Comments and Guessed Origin
"Bit ugly, but really buttery, best eaten in the dark for full effect, a good effort. Morrisons?"

"Finally a pie with buttery pastry and I really liked the filling, juicy fruit, rich and just the right amount of sweetness, but that made it all the sadder that there wasn't more of it. Slapdash presentation."

"Great quality filling, and also looked good. The best pie so far. From somewhere quite expensive - M+S?"

"It's getting tedious trying to differentiate between some of these pies. This was mass produced, typically bland, and unexciting. The 'producer' seems happy enough to stick a slightly different motif on each of the pies and farm them out to each supermarket. Happy enough to serve this to some less salubrious guests, but would rather serve a luke warm turd to anybody of any standing. If this pie was a car it would be a mark 3 Escort. Origin:- any of a about 6 supermarkets, so I'll plump for Tesco."

"Its what's on the inside that counts people say, what a load of rubbish that is. This was like a good looking girl with a bad hair cut i.e. the poor sugar coating which affects my overall score. The filling was good but room for improvement."

"Morrisons - Gobbled this one down, enjoyed it. Nice firm crust and tasty filling, could have been a bit more filling though, but good all rounder. "

"Nicely decorated and sugar-coated, although my pie had a slight leakage issue at the join. Pastry and filling were both sweet and rich, however, as is often the case, the filling quantity was inadequate."

"Slightly burnt around the edges. Pie was half filled with poor quality filling. Pretty design on top though, but would have been better with a bit more sugar coating."

"The best so far, but the filling quality let it down, not the quantity filled to the top. Again not loaded with the sugar, and still could have done with the taste of Christmas booze. I think this could from the Sainsburys stable of pies."

"This pie has glimpse of outer beauty and inner beauty. Good attention to detail, but lacking a bit of sugar. Decent on the inside, more booze needed. Definitely worth inviting back for a coffee!"
