"A fantastic pie, but a nightmare as everyone will need a plate for this pie due to the amount of crumbling. M&S?" "A seriously good pie - great effort - casing very good - a lot of filling with a great taste - best I have had this year - must be a top range brand or line - need another quick !" "Aldi - Pie had an Interesting filling flavour with a hint of brandy, pity the filling quantity did not reach the half way mark. Good firm pastry" "Aldi? A very buttery number that crumbled like a Cumbrian Bridge in a torrential downpour.. Not too bad though. " "An average pie - though fell apart in my hands and a lot ended up all over the desk so was marked down for that. Better quality pastry and more sugar needed (was there even any sugar at all?). Sainsburys." "Attention to detail was there in design (Pattern of several stars and good sugar distribution) although the execution was lacking - the pastry details looked like something you would find among worn ancient ruins of some description (Even more so once I had wrestled the pie out of it's casing). Despite the crumbling crust however, the filling was very satisfactory with a good helping of booze and a nice blend of fruits." "Chairman Mao would have been proud if he'd known that China had entered the Pie Race. Sadly the manufactures have missed a star off the symbolic pie lid. Can nobody produce a pastry that sings? With more crumble than rhubarb it split apart faster than a celebrity relationship forged in an antipodean rainforest. Filling was nice though. If this pie was a former communist state it would be Romania. ASDA." "Crumbled into a heap of sharp filling! Not for me thanks" "I guess M&S - Was very yummy - However not sure why it was in two cases?? The fruit was very tangy and juicy. " "Looked good, nice size reasonable amount of sugar coating, nice aroma. Not to sure of the pastry, lacked flavour, large gap between the filling and the lid. The filling of the pie was the best so far, plenty of booze and good texture. Asda." "Marks & Spencer? This is definitely my favourite pie so far. The filling was particularly good! Yum!" "Mmmm... tasty. Nice pastry, maybe a bit dry and crumbly for some people but then I hate the alternative sort of fatty, clammy or stodgy pastry - however the pastry did not taste as buttery as I was expecting given the pie case smelt buttery pre first bite. Did not look like much filling at all so a perception they have been a bit stingy which might put some people off, but boy the little does pack a punch, so maybe this makes the pastry taste less buttery in contrast. Altogether, the pastry and filling is quite a good combo, and although not my favourite pie (maybe second) is definitely a top quartile performer." "The standard is on the up. Best filling I've had so far, pastry just about held together for the duration. Let's hope we can keep up the high standards." "Touch of overhang gives it a bit of an ugly appearance, pie with love handles.. not that appealing! Not too shabby on the taste, smelled ok too, bit of surgery and this would score higher." "What pretty little pie. Chubby, too. Plenty of booze made for a very tasty and moist filling. The filling really did reach the top, and the pastry although not sublime, certainly didn't let it down. "
