Reviewers Comments and Guessed Origin
"Mr Average Pie" - Looks pretty uninviting, but has a
suprisingly tasty crust. Holds together well. Filling feels a bit
watered down, but is tasty enough. Improved after a few bites"
"A solid start."
"Buttery
moist pastry - nice filling with plump juicy sultanas - a nice tasting
combo within a neat and tidy overall appearance."
"Distinctly average."
"First
pie of the season, so a benchmark I guess. Not great on taste, texture
or aroma.. you'd be pretty happy drawing this pie first game of the
season... will easily be beaten!"
"Mr Kipling. I can tell that dangeously crumbly pastry and overly sweet, runny filling, a mile off. Not a luxury pie!"
"Perfectly average in every way"
"A good start to the campaign. Reasonable all rounder, buttery, good size and ample filling. Good times. "
"When
approaching the first pie of the season, one has to take trip through
the deep recesses of ones mind to enable comparators. Taking the trip
through my mind can be exhausting; the anticipation of that first
sumptuous bite is the mental sustenance required to complete such a
journey. Surprisingly, one was not disappointed. Though appearances
suggested otherwise, the first bite delivered fruit and pastry of higher
quality than the ragged crust and inconsistent sugar coating promised. A
good start, one thinks."
