“Another average pie Tesco” “Different multi star motif design, with an uneven and not quite perfect appearance, and also with only a very few granules of sugar. Not much filling smell through the pie case, but the pastry smells quite buttery. Biting in, pastry is of a 'softish nice biscuit' consistency, and whilst the pie is not exactly bursting with filling, the filling is nicely textured and intensely flavoured with hints of spices and something stronger or alcoholic-like in the background. This pie is of a good standard and in a more interesting sphere tastewise - and is a pie that leaves a nice lingering aftertaste, normally the hallmark of a fine pie.” “Distinctly Average Pie. Interesting pattern, and a light coating of sugar. Crust was firm. Had a hint of brandy, but tasted a bit watery ” “It is the pie I brought in. Happy to report that the pastry was good. Not a bad all-rounder without being spectacular.” “Looked good from the outside.... that's all i'm going to say ” “Pie was half empty ! The filling had a cough syrup like taste ! ” “This has been left in for too long. Pastry is overcooked and dried out. Definitely needs a cup of tea to wash it down.”
