Today we are back to a much more conventional Mince Pie. A typical 'standard' sized pie it's only distinguishing feature being the Star? design on the top. There is possibly a coating of granulated sugar, but it's a bit hard to tell. The lid is quite domed, could it be full of filling? Or Air...First impressions were good, pastry was just about right, soft but not too crumbly. Filling was sweet with defiant fruit texture.... but oh dear it's was barely half full and all the dome was full of air, what a shame.In conclusion, an average pie, good in a few areas but none of them outstanding. Let down by cost cutting. With a more generous coating of sugar and filling of mincemeat it could have been a great pie. Instead just average.
