Shoppers mock Sainsbury’s for selling mince pies three months ahead of Christmas – Cambridgeshire Live

Stores are beginning to gear up for the festive season, with retailers stocking decorations and Christmas cards already – despite it being September. 

And, while there are plenty of people who are genuinely looking forward to the Yuletide season, some shoppers think it’s far too early.

Sainsbury’s is selling freshly baked mince pies in its bakery section.

A picture of the pies was posted on a popular money-saving Facebook group , and it is dividing opinions.

Some people are genuinely looking forward to eating their first mince pie of the year.

“Sainsbury’s mince pies are the best!,” one customer gleefully commented.

Whilst another posted: “I know they are early but they are the nicest mince pie.”

First Pie of 2018

Although Mince Pies have been in the shops since September… Yes they’ve been on the shelves since September. At the Mince Pie club we’ve been waiting, holding out, till at least Autumn has set in before we start our dedicated review of the 2018 pies.

So our our first pie is from Sainsbury’s. We are very pleased to see a new design and ‘Improved Recipe’.

We were disappointed not to have been consulted on the new recipe, but don’t worry reader we will be putting the pie through the same rigorous taste testing soon.

Suffice it to say that the seasons first pie ALWAYS tastes amazing!
