Unboxing Bettys By Post

Like all good review web sites we wanted to give you the complete picture of what it’s like to try the Bettys By Post Mince Pie. So we thought you would like an ‘Unboxing’ article just to show what happens when you order from Bettys. It is important to know that the Pies you ordered turn up in a state ready to eat.

Bettys By Post specialise in making Mince Pies in there Craft Bakery for a limited time each year. You can go to their web site a place your order and select the Friday that you would like your Pies delivered.

Bettys bake all their Mince Pies on a Wednesday, and then courier them out to customers to arrive fresh on Fridays ready to be eaten over the weekend. At the Mince Pie Club we recommend eating your Mince Pies as fresh as you can get them, so Bettys have got the right idea.

The 12 pies that we received, though not delivered on a Friday, were baked in the Craft Bakery and delivered by courier in exactly the same way as any other pies would have been. Bettys take real care pride in their Pies.

Our Pies arrived by courier at about 9:15am on the morning of the Mince Pie Club Taste Test.

Here is what the box looks like that they arrived in.

As you can see it’s a good strong box, quite large considering it’s only holding 12 Mince Pies.

We opened the box. Where are the Mince Pies?

All we could see was polystyrene packaging, no pies in site!

You can see that these Mince Pies are very well packed in the box, lets hope that the have been suitable protected by all this packaging.

So we decided to dig down a little to see what we could find.

A pie box, hurahh. For a moment there we were getting worried that we just had a box of polystyrene packaging.

You can see that the pie box has been carefully placed in to the larger box.

So here is the Pie Box. We have included a coin so give you some idea of scale.

Here is a close-up of the box.

You can see the attention to detail in Bettys presentation, the lovely bow and message card.

This is looking more and more like a pie that will be very well made.

So when you open the lid this is what you get. 6 lovely pies gently packed in a cardboard surround.

The pies are covered by a layer of grease proof paper and appear to have arrived in perfect condition.

Here is a close-up of the pies fitting snug into the cardboard casing.

Lifting the first layer of pies out, reveals the other 6 pies.

Again separated by a layer of grease proof paper.

All 12 Pies. Here they are, they have arrived in very good condition.

Well packed and well presented, ready for eating!

One of the pies so this is the Bettys pie, after travelling 100’s of miles. Ready for use to try.

Yum.
