We like this Pie, it’s a little unusual in it’s strong fruity taste, but it’s rather nice. Can we get another one please?
There has been a lot media coverage about this Asda Luxury Sloe Gin Mince Pie, so it'a about time the Mince Pie Club got there hands on some to give them a review.
It's a pretty looking pie with a simple Star design. No noticeable steam holes. It has a light sprinkling of powered sugar. The pie is a good size and eases out of the case without any trouble.
First impressions are quite good. The pastry is nice a soft and gives way easily to reveal plenty of filling. The sensation in the mouth is sweet and exceptionally fruity, almost fruit pie fruity. Quite a unique taste for a Mince Pie. The filling has plenty of texture too, but lacks the Mince Pie spices you would usually expect.
