So the first pie of the season. What a good start. A very nice looking mince pie with a generous dusting of caster sugar on the snowflake design. A good size pie, feels reasonable weight in the hand, hopefully there will be plenty of filling. First impressions are good. The pastry is a bit soft, but does not crumble in your lap. No crunch though. The filling is nice and fruity slightly sweet. All in all a great start to the season.
