Our second review of the season and the 'big guns' are out. This pie has a long history of good scores over the years, will it's reputation be upheld this year? A simple looking pie, good size with a plain top, almost understated, the granulated sugar sparkles in the light. A good weight to this pie, it comes out of the pie case cleanly. First impressions are good, pastry is soft with a slight crunch. Very little crumble. The filling is rich and fruity with good texture. All in all another good year for this pie.... but what will the Mince Pie Club make of it?
