Well, so says the opening line of “Mince Pie” by CHRISTOPHER MORLEY. If there are any book lovers out there, we’d love to know what you think of these freebie e-books, digitized in February last year. (we haven’t got time to read, just eat… what do you think this is, the holiday season or something?) Does the story have anything to do with Mince Pies at all, or is it just a ruse to get us to read it?

Primary school bans home-made mince pies

Mince pies have been banned from a primary school’s Christmas fete over fears they could be a health and safety hazard.
The headteacher has said the seasonal treats cannot be sold in case a child has an allergic reaction to the ingredients.
Parents have branded the decision an over-reaction
Neil Davies, headteacher at Mynydd Cynffig Junior School in Kenfig Hill, near Porthcawl, said: “I have got to guarantee the health and safety of the pupils. I’m not doing it to upset anybody.”

Best Newcomer – The best pie to be tested for the first time
Most Improved Pie – Comparing this year and last year’s scores to see which pie has improved the most
Least Improved Pie – Comparing this year and last year’s to see which pie has improved the least
Worst Pie – The pie to avoid this year!

We hate to disappoint you, but despite our accolades and encouragement to bring them back again, the Gordon Ramsey Luxury Deep Filled Mince Pies won’t be returning to our tables this Christmas. Our helpful source at Gordon Ramsey Holdings Ltd stated that:
“Unfortunately we won’t be stocking these this year as the BHS range is no longer available”.
They did offer apologies for all you F-Pie fans out there and when queried further whether we might see them next year, they were “unable to tell at this point” but promised to keep us updated.
So not all hope lost then?
