Summary
On today's pie the holly leaf design is just about visible, but there is a reasonable sugar coating. The aroma is ok and it feels about average weight in the hand.
Getting the pie out of the case proved rather tricky. Disaster! The pie top came off in my hand. Eventually I did manage to prize the pie base from the case, not good at all.
This pie does have plenty of filling though... much easier to see without the lid.
Having reassembled the pie, first impressions were mixed. The pastry was nice and soft and the filling sweet with definite fruity texture, but the pie crumbled and collapsed spilling crumbs all over the place.
Fairly poor effort on the pastry here, spoiling an otherwise average pie.
As my school report often said, Could do better.
