A good effort from Asda. A good looking tasty Mince Pie with plenty of filling. Just slightly over cooked and a little too sweet, but still a very good Mince Pie.
A couple of Asda Mince Pies in this week, here is the first the Asda Extra Special Luxury Mince Pie.
Quite a nice looking pie, with a star design that leaves a few holes for the steam to escape. A generous sprinkle of powered sugar makes this pie look very festive. The crust is a little dark round the edges... overcooked perhaps?
The pie is a good size and weight. It eases easily out of it's case.
First impressions were good. Soft pastry gave way to reveal a sweet filling. Generally a sweet taste in the mouth. Enjoyable, but a little too sweet perhaps.
The filling was good with plenty of texture and vine fruits. The mince pie was also generously filled which is always a good thing.
