Today's pie is a joy to behold. Nice snowflake design with granulated sugar making it sparkle in the light. It's a average size pie filling the foil case well. It has an excellent aroma, we are looking forward to this pie.

However the lid is poorly fixed to the base and comes off in our had before we've got the pie out of it's case. The lid pastry is firm and crisp but the base is too soft and starts to fall apart as we extract it from it's case.

We re-assemble the pie for first impressions and they are good despite the inconsistency on the pastry. The filling is very good, fruity and flavoursome but there could be more squeezed into the pie. But it crumbles into our laps...

It could have been a great pie, but was let down by the pastry.
