Today's pie is slightly understated. Nothing flash. Just a simple design with a nice even coating of granulated sugar. It a little deceptive but this is a slightly bigger pie than the norm. It's heavy too so there could be plenty of filling inside. No steam hole though... First impressions are very good. Pastry is soft and very buttery, the filling is good with plenty of texture and fruit. A more 'traditional' filling with both sweet and sour ingredients. And it's full to the top of lid too. Overall an excellent pie for the discerning Mince Pie fan.
