Summary
This is the first time that we've see the OGGS Vegan Mince pie. It's always good when something new / different comes along for us to try. Vegan mince pies, apparently 'Santa Loves them'.
Only 4 in a box, but they do look good, definitely hand made with a little filling oozing out from under the lid. An average size pie, but has a good weight in the hand. Generous topping of caster sugar make this pie look great.
First impressions were a little disappointing, pastry was quit try and also the filling lacked juice, so needed to reach for a warm drink. Despite being dry there was little or no crumble which was a good thing. The filling was very fruity, we could certainly detect the fruit. The overall taste was well balanced not too sweet.
Quite a good pie, just let down by the dry pastry.
