Summary
Currently the ONLY Mince Pies being sold by Waitrose are theses pies from their in-store bakery, so we had to try some to let you know what to expect. These pies are the flat style (not deep filled) so you need to set your expectations that there is not going to be loads of filling. They are good looking pies with a nice pastry star and a dusting with icing sugar. They came out of their pastry cases with easy.
First impressions were disappointing... they were quite dry and the pastry was very firm / hard. The filling was disappointing, sweet with little texture or evidence of fruit.
Overall the experience was far too sweet for us.
